Commending Jule Stroick for her contributions to the City of Madison’s planning program on the occasion of her retirement from public service.
Body
WHEREAS, Jule Stroick was hired by the City of Madison as a Planner 2 on November 9, 1987; promoted to Planner 3 on July 24, 1990; then promoted to Planner 4 on June 1, 1997; and

WHEREAS, For over 33 years, Jule has dedicated herself to ensuring that Madison is a great City where all residents can thrive, always putting people first in developing creative ways to tackle short and long term community issues; and

WHEREAS, Jule has led many planning initiatives across the City, and played an instrumental role in systematically addressing many of the most challenging issues facing the City’s neighborhoods through innovative and inclusive public engagement processes, and by empowering residents to be part of the decision making process in shaping the future of places where they live; and

WHEREAS, Jule was instrumental in establishing Madison’s neighborhood focused approach as the building blocks to strong communities through initiatives such as neighborhood plans, neighborhood conferences, the Neighborhood Grant Program, and supporting neighborhoods in countless other ways; and

WHEREAS, Jule has provided guidance and supervision to many colleagues, sharing years of neighborhood planning knowledge and public participation expertise; and

WHEREAS, Jule has mentored many aspiring planners, instilling the importance of public service in improving communities, and has maintained contact with many former interns to provide support as they progressed through their careers; and

WHEREAS, Jule has long been recognized for her skillful and diplomatic approach to highly complex issues, and her leadership talents have long been respected by colleagues, City boards and commissions, Mayors and Common Councils-- and most importantly, the public with whom, and for whom, she has wor...
