Title
Commending and thanking Alderperson Donna Moreland for her dedicated service to the constituents in District 7 and to the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Donna Moreland was elected to the Madison Common Council on April 2, 2019; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Moreland served on the City-County Homeless Issues Committee, Early Childhood Care and Education Committee, Economic Development Committee, Equal Opportunities Commission, Finance Committee, Housing Strategy Committee and the President’s Work Group to Review Council Communication Tools & Processes; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Moreland served as chair of the Alder Workgroup to Develop Logistics and Operational Details for MPD Independent Civilian Oversight with diligence, dedication and the awareness of the importance in our city’s history in the creation of the first Police Civilian Oversight Board; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council will now need to designate a new alder to do the "adjourning duties” that she so ably took over from former Ald. Steve King; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Donna Moreland through her hard work and dedication to her aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served her constituents and the City of Madison,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Donna Moreland for her dedicated service to her constituents in District 7 and the City of Madison.
