Congratulating Ocean Beutter for being chosen as winner for Wisconsin in the 12th annual Doodle for Google competition.

Body

WHEREAS, the annual Doodle for Google competition is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade across the United States to design a Google Doodle; and

 

WHEREAS, Ocean Beutter, a talented student at Velma Hamilton Middle School, entered the competition in the 6 - 7 Grade Group; and

 

WHEREAS, Ocean’s written response to the contest theme of “I show kindness by…” was “I show kindness by returning the favor to animals, who lend us their home and earth.  Soon I’ll be hitting my four-year mark of becoming vegetarian.  My drawing aims to portray the beautiful relationships with animals we could have.  I hope my doodle will shout a wake up to the world that animals deserve a happy life, just like us.”; and

 

WHEREAS, Ocean’s doodle was selected from thousands of entries received this year, making her one of the 54 State and Territory Winners across the country and putting her in the running to become one of five National Finalists;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of Madison, Wisconsin congratulate Ocean Beutter on being chosen as winner for Wisconsin in the 12th annual Doodle for Google competition.
