Dedicating the City Engineering Rain Garden Program in Honor of Roger Bannerman and Naming it the "The Roger Bannerman Rain Garden Initiative".
Body
WHEREAS, Roger Bannerman has been a tireless advocate and research scientist on stormwater quality issues over the course of his career with the WDNR and USGS, and;
WHEREAS, Roger has worked for years with the Friends of Wingra Creek and the Friends of Starkweather Creek as a volunteer, and;
WHEREAS, Roger was instrumental in advocating for and helping implement the Adams Street Rain Garden pilot project in 2005 that eventually became the current Engineering Rain Garden program, and;
WHEREAS, Roger has continued to work as a researcher and advocate for stormwater quality issues, and;
WHEREAS, Roger is respected and admired by his peers, friends, and colleagues, and;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Madison Engineering Rain Garden Program is hereby dedicated in honor of Roger Bannerman and that the program be “The Roger Bannerman Rain Garden Initiative”.
