Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes an increase to the existing engineering design services contract for the Olbrich Botanical Gardens Expansion - Project 1. The resolution seeks to add $25,000 $50,000 to the existing authorized contract amount of $1,000,000 for additional services being provided during the design development, construction document, and construction administration phases of the project. Funding for the increase will come from the existing project budget (Munis project 17193). The 2017 Adopted Capital Budget includes $500,000 in GO Borrowing and $4.5M in contributions/donations from Olbrich Botanical Society to begin design. The 2018 Adopted Capital Budget includes $4.5M in GO Borrowing to complete design and construction to begin construction for this project.

The parties, the City of Madison ("City") and Meyer, Scherer, & Rockcastle, Ltd. ("Architect" or "Contractor") entered into a contract for the purchase of professional architectural design and construction administration services for Olbrich Botanical Gardens on April 6, 2017 RES17-00175
. The contract amendment for this resolution is to address extra services required during the design development, construction drawing, and construction administration phases of the contract.
