Fiscal Note
The City is proposing to resurface and replace utilities on Hammersley Rd from Gilbert Rd to the W Beltline Frontage Rd in 2024. The project involves removing all existing on-street parking and on-street bike lanes, and fully reconstructing the north-half of the street to narrow it to 24-ft in width (two, 10-ft travel lanes only) and construct a 10-ft wide asphalt, off-street, shared-use path to accommodate both bicyclists and pedestrians.

The Board of Public Works and the City Engineer having made reports of all proceedings in relation to the improvement of Hammersley Road Resurfacing Assessment District - 2024 pursuant to a resolution of the Common Council, RES-22-00543, ID No. 72637,adopted 8/2/202 which resolution was adopted thereto, and the provisions of the Madison General Ordinances and the Wisconsin Statutes in such case made and provided, and the Common Council being fully advised. (10th AD)

BE IT RESOLVED:
1. That the City at large is justly chargeable with and shall pay the sum of $3,688,100.00 of the entire cost of said improvement.
2. That for those eligible property owners requesting construction of a rain garden in the public right-of-way adjacent to their property shall execute the necessary waiver of special assessments on forms provided by the City Engineer;
