American Transmission Company, LLC made a written offer to pay the City of Madison $1,500 as compensation for the acquisition of the proposed easement area, which will be deposited into the City Parks Division’s miscellaneous revenue as compensation for the easement acquisition.

Body
WHEREAS, American Transmission Company, LLC (“ATC”) owns, operates, builds and maintains an electrical transmission system in Dane County, including the 69-kilovolt line from Fitchburg to the Nine Springs Substation (“Line”); and

WHEREAS, as part of ATC’s ongoing review of their system, they identified a section of the Line located at the western boundary of Highland Manor Park (“City Property”), owned by the City of Madison (“City”), that requires maintenance; and

WHEREAS, ATC confirmed that there are no construction activities planned at this time, only maintenance activities that include the removal of trees and/or other vegetation that might interfere with the Line or prohibit access to the Line; and

WHEREAS, the City Property is currently encumbered with an easement for the Line, recorded as Document No. 1146736 and corrected by Document No. 1147829; however, the size of the existing easement is not sufficient for the required maintenance of the Line by ATC; and

WHEREAS, ATC made a written offer to pay the City $1,500.00 as compensation for the acquisition of additional easement area, which is legally described on attached Exhibit A and depicted on attached Exhibit B; and

WHEREAS, ATC’s offering price is based upon the difference in the fair market value of the City Property before and after the acquisition of easement rights, as determined by an appraisal that ...
