Proclaiming the week of April 26 through May 2, 2020 as Arbor Week in the City of Madison.

Body

WHEAREAS, the City of Madison has been a Tree City USA for 31 years; and,

 

WHEREAS, trees help moderate the temperature; and,

 

WHEREAS, residents living in greener neighborhoods are healthier; and,

 

WHEREAS, planting trees provides an opportunity for community involvement and empowerment that improves the quality of life in our neighborhoods; and,

 

WHEREAS, the continued planting and care of trees in our city shall provide the same benefits for the present and future residents of Madison,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Madison, Wisconsin, does hereby proclaim the week of April 26 through May 2, 2020 as Arbor Week in the City of Madison, and urges residents to celebrate and plant trees this week.
