Congratulating Safe Communities of Madison and Dane County as they celebrate 20 years of being an award-winning 501c3 nonprofit that collaborates with over 350 organizations working together to save lives, prevent injury and make our community safer.
Body
WHEREAS, Safe Communities of Madison and Dane County is recognized as a national model and are accredited under guidelines established by World Health Organization Collaborating Center on Community Safety Promotion, Safe Communities America and Pan Pacific Network of Safe Communities; and,
WHEREAS, Safe Communities of Madison and Dane County has built up a coalition of collaborating and valued partners by working with local organizations, government agencies and individuals committed to safety have joined forces to achieve what no one organization can achieve alone. Diverse partners have become an effective force for change; and,
WHEREAS, Safe Communities of Madison and Dane County is an efficient, effective steward of resources by leveraging partner contributions of time and resources, they are an efficient venue for organizations to collaborate on shared goals; collaborative efforts fill gaps rather than duplicate services; and,
WHEREAS, Safe Communities of Madison and Dane County engage people with the most at stake to serve those at greatest risk, particularly those with lived experience -older adults who’ve fallen; people in recovery; family members - bring special insights to prevention efforts. Communities projects offer them training and meaningful opportunities for involvement; and,
WHEREAS, Safe Communities of Madison and Dane County acts as a clearinghouse for lifesaving programs by serving as a coalition, they employ programs shown by research to effectively tackle our community’s top causes of serious injury; and,
