Title

Proclaiming September 15, 2019, as Viva México Festival Day.

Body

WHEREAS, Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated in the United States from September 15 to October 15; and,

 

WHEREAS, as part of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations, WLMV-La Movida 1480AM, a member station of Madison’s Mid-West Family Broadcasting group, will celebrate the eighteenth annual Festival Viva México on Sunday, September 15, 2019; and,

 

WHEREAS, the official inauguration celebration, including a presentation of the three flags and singing of the national anthems of México and the United States of America, will be facilitated by Consul Julián Adem Díaz de León, Consulate of México in Milwaukee; and,

 

WHEREAS, Viva México Festival Day is a cultural and family event promoting Mexican heritage and celebrating Mexican Independence Day and featuring traditional Latino folk dance, cultural information and exhibits, musical performances, and delicious Mexican food,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Madison Common Council hereby proclaim September 15, 2019, as Viva México Festival Day in the City of Madison.
