Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Matt Phair was elected to represent District 20 on the Madison Common Council on April 5, 2011; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Phair served on the Public Safety Review Committee, Community Gardens Committee, Board of Education-Common Council Liaison Committee, Community Development Division Conference Committee, Board of Health for Madison and Dane County, Common Council Organizational Committee, Education Committee, Healthy Retail Access Work Group Madison Food Policy Council, Administrative Review Board, Sustainable Madison Transportation Master Plan Oversight Committee, Affirmative Action Commission, Common Council Executive Committee, Community Development Block Grant Committee and Sensitive Crimes Commission (Dane County); and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Phair worked with alders and community stakeholders to develop a comprehensive plan to make our city more safe, know as the "15 Point Plan"; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Phair worked diligently to address violence and violence prevention through the lens of Public Health; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Phair spearheaded efforts in District 20 to build a new neighborhood center on Theresa Terrace and renovate and expand the Meadowood Neighborhood Center, Meadowridge Library and create a new vibrant community space known as "Meadowridge Commons"; and,

WHEREAS, the city of Madison will never forget his heroism, along with his wife, Connie and resident Alec Lewis, in rescuing two passengers from the dangerous waters in an accident on Chapel Hill and Regis Roads during a heavy rainstorm on August 20, 2018; and,

WHEREAS, Alderperson Phair through his hard work and dedication to his aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served his constituents and the City of Madison,
