Title

Commending and thanking Alderperson Amanda Mary-Myriah Hall for her dedicated service to her constituents in District 3 and the City of Madison.

Body

WHEREAS, Alderperson Amanda Hall was first elected on April 7, 2015 to represent the 3rd Aldermanic District; and,

 

WHEREAS, during her tenure Alderperson Amanda Hall served on the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee, Committee on Aging, Community Development Division Conference Committee, Community Services Committee, Madison Food Policy Council, Madison Local Food Committee, Public Market Development Committee, Public Safety Review Committee, Sustainable Madison Transportation Master Plan Oversight Committee (Madison in Motion) and the Urban Design Commission and,

 

WHEREAS, during Alderperson Hall's tenure she tirelessly advocated for affordable housing in Madison while also identifying and challenging the prejudices that surround the issue ; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Hall strongly challenged outdated patriarchal-born institutional power structures in the city of Madison; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Hall was credited with saving a 230-year old Burr Oak tree in District 3 and later christened the tree "Bruce"; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Hall through her tireless dedication to her aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served her District 3 constituents and the City of Madison,

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Amanda Mary-Myriah Hall for her dedicated service to her constituents in District 3 and the City of Madison and wish her well in all her future endeavors.
