Title

Commending James M. Martinson, Public Works Foreperson, of the City Engineering Division, upon his retirement after 29 years of dedicated service to the City of Madison.

Body

WHEREAS, on April 6, 1987 Jim began work for the City Engineering Division as a Street and Sewer Maintenance Worker 1; and,

 

WHEREAS, during his career with City Engineering Jim worked his way up through the ranks serving the public as an Equipment Operator, Engineering Field Aide, Construction Inspector 1 and Construction Inspector 2 culminating with his promotion to Public Works General Foreperson.

 

WHEREAS, for the past 29 plus years, Jim has dutifully served the Engineering Division and the City of Madison; and,

 

WHEREAS, Jim shall retire from the City of Madison Engineering Division on January 10, 2016; and,

 

WHEREAS,  Jim’s calm demeanor throughout difficult projects and adverse conditions served the City and the Public well, and shall be missed.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Engineer commend Jim Martinson, Public Works General Foreperson, on his retirement fromt he City of Madison after nearly 30 years of exemplary City Service.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Common Council and City Engineer thank Jim Martinson for his dedicated service to the City of Madison, its citizens and partners, and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

 

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Mayor, Common Council, City Engineer and entire Engineering Division wish Jim a healthy and enjoyable retirement with his family.
