Commending and thanking Alderperson Jed Sanborn for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 1 and to the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Jed Sanborn was elected to the Madison Common Council on April 5, 2005; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sanborn served on the Board of Estimates, City-County Liaison Committee, Madison Cultural Arts District Board, Transit and Parking Commission, Long Range Metro Transit Planning Ad Hoc Committee, Sustainable Design and Energy Committee, Tax Incremental Financing Policy Ad Hoc Committee, Inclusionary Zoning Advisory Oversight Committee and the contracted Service Oversight Subcommittee; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sanborn introduced an ordinance to repeal inclusionary zoning; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sanborn was a leader, among others, to add police officers and pass the Chronic Nuisance ordinance; and,
 
WHEREAS, for over six years he introduced dozens of cuts to the City's Capital and Operating Budgets, of which the vast majority were rejected by the Council; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sanborn through hard work and commitment to his aldermanic duties has faithfully and with honor served his constituents and the City of Madison,
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Jed Sanborn for his dedicated service to his constituents in District 1 and to the City of Madison.
