Commending and thanking Alderperson Mark Clear for his conscientious service during his tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Mark Clear was elected by his peers to the office of President of the Madison Common Council on April 20, 2010 for the term 2010-2011; and
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Clear met weekly with Mayor Dave Cieslewicz and Council President Pro Tem Lauren Cnare to discuss city issues; and
 
WHEREAS, during his term as Common Council President, Alderperson Clear also served as chair of the Common Council Organizational Committee and served on the Board of Estimates, Commission on People with Disabilities, Economic Development Committee, Jeffrey Clay Erlanger Civility in Public Discourse Award Committee, Housing Diversity Planning Ad Hoc Committee and the Madison Area Transportation Planning Board; and,
 
WHEREAS, during his tenure as Common Council President Alderperson Clear held numerous discussions and forums for the Common Council on issues involving the Overture Center, the high speed rail project, the proposed tax installment plan, the Water Utility's Advance Metering Infrastructure project and created the CCOC Subcommittee to develop a Council Social Media Policy; and,
 
WHERAS, Alderperson Clear created the President's Work Group on the Overture Center, worked tirelessly and with relentless determination to resolve the myriad of issues surrounding the performing arts facility; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Clear fulfilled his duties as Common Council President while ably representing and responding to 19th District constituents concerns and issues,
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Mark Clear for his conscientious service during his tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.
