Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Zach Brandon was first elected to the Madison Common Council on April 1, 2003 and was re-elected in 2005 and 2007; and,
 
WHEREAS, he served on the Board of Education-Common Council Liaison Committee, Board of Estimates, Capital Area Regional Planning Commission (CARPC), City-County Liaison Committee, Downtown Coordinating Committee, Economic Development Commission, Equal Opportunities Commission, Joint Monona Terrace/Alliant Energy Study Committee, Public Health Commission, Tax Incremental Financing Policy Ad Hoc Committee and the Verona Road/West Beltline Highway Advisory Committee; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Zach Brandon was responsive to and worked collaboratively with district residents and businesses city-wide; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Zach Brandon worked tirelessly to focus Council budget discussions on looking at ways the city could decrease spending and lower property taxes earning him the title of "budget hawk"; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Zach Brandon was a dedicated member of the Economic Development Commission and was instrumental in the development of the December 2004 report, "Opportunities to Make Madison City Government More Friendly to Business"; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Zach Brandon was the original sponsor of the City's best-value contracting ordinance that required city contractors to provide apprenticeship and training programs,
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Zach Brandon for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 7 and to the City of Madison and wish him well in all his future endeavors.
