Commending and thanking Alderperson Mark Clear for his dedicated service to his constituents in District 19 and the City of Madison.

WHEREAS, Alderperson Mark Clear was first elected on April 3, 2007 to represent the 19th District; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Mark Clear served as Common Council President Pro Tem for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 terms and Common Council President for the 2010-2011 term; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure Alderperson Mark Clear served on the Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee, Board of Education-Common Council Liaison Committee, Board of Estimates, Board of Park Commissioners, Board of Public Works, City-County Liaison Committee, Common Council Executive Committee, Common Council Organizational Committee, Common Council Work Group to Review Snow Policies and Procedures, Commission on People with Disabilities, Digital Technology Committee, Disability Rights Commission, East Washington Avenue 800 Block North Committee, Economic Development Committee, Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Board of Directors, Greater Madison Convention and Visitors Community Relations Committee, Housing Diversity Planning Ad Hoc Committee, Jeffrey Clay Erlanger Civility in Public Discourse Award Committee, Advisory Committee to Guide Development and Implementation of a Neighborhood Support Office, Madison Area Transportation Planning Board, Platinum Biking City Planning Committee, President’s Work Group on Improvements to the Budget Process, President’s Work Group on the Overture Center, Room Tax Commission, Transportation Ordinance Review Ad Hoc Committee, Union Corners Ad Hoc Committee and the TIF Policy Review Ad Hoc Committee (twice!); and,
WHEREAS, during Alderperson Clear’s tenure he stewarded the reconstruction of University Avenue and Old Middleton Road to beautify the built environment and improve bicycle and pedestrian safety; and,
