Commending and thanking Alderperson Eli Judge for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 8 and to the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Eli Judge was elected to the Madison Common Council on April 3, 2007; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Judge served on the Downtown Coordinating Committee, Housing Committee, Joint Southeast Campus Area Committee, Landlord and Tenant Issues Subcommittee, Public Safety Review Board, State Street Design Project Oversight Committee, Frances Plaza Public Art Selection Committee, James Madison Park Property Planning Committee, and the Regent Street-South Campus Plan Steering Committee; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Judge is most proud of the his accomplishments to modify and pass the textbook ordinance during his second Common Council meeting, to combat the Alcohol Licensing Density Plan, to increase the Rape Crisis Center budget, to resurrect the campus area neighborhood association (State-Langdon Neighborhood), to author and assure passage of the Photo Ordinance and the Downtown Residential Lighting Initiative and to create a student position on the Alcohol License Review Committee; and,
 
WHEREAS, he held  "Alder Hours" (set times for Madisonians to talk about any issue) for residents to visit and talk about any questions they might have, utilized blogs and YouTube in order to increase the accessibility and visibility of municipal government to the campus area and never missed a Common Council meeting during his entire tenure; and,
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Eli Judge for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 8 and to the City of Madison and wish him well in all his future endeavors.
