Honoring and expressing appreciation to Paul Kronberger, Director of Information Technology, on his retirement from the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Paul Kronberger began his employment with the City of Madison on February 1, 2010, as the Director of Information Technology; and

WHEREAS, Paul’s expert management skills guided the IT Department through 8.5 years of tremendous growth and innovation, including the implementation of enterprise class systems; and

WHEREAS, this led to consolidation of systems and reduction of silos of information bringing efficiencies to City government; and

WHEREAS, under Paul’s leadership the City increased participation with the Metropolitan Unified Fiber Network (MUFN) resulting in connectivity to most City facilities. In his role as Chair of the MUFN Oversight Committee, he has strengthened relationships with other governmental entities and private sector partners; and

WHEREAS, Paul’s leadership was recognized by his appointment to the Mayor’s Management Team, Performance Excellence Leadership Team, and the Data Management Team; and

WHEREAS, Paul also shown a strong commitment to goals of the City of Madison by dedicating his time and energy to the Racial Equity Social Justice Initiative (RESJI), serving as a member of the Strategy Team and the Core RESJ Team. In addition, he has promoted workforce diversity by building relationships with educational institutions and expanding recruitment methods, and

WHEREAS, he has demonstrated a commitment to workforce development by engaging in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) efforts to promote student interest in IT careers both directly and through professional organizations; and

WHEREAS, while Paul’s wife, family and grandchildren are anxiously awaiting his well-deserved retirement, I.T. staff will miss his engagement, dedication and sense of humor;
