Title
Commending and thanking Alderperson Timothy V. Bruer for his dedicated and conscientious service during his tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Timothy Bruer was elected by his peers to the office of President of the Madison Common Council on April 21, 2009 for the term 2009-2010; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Bruer met weekly with Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, his staff and Council President Pro Tem Mark Clear to discuss city issues; and,
WHEREAS, during his term as Common Council President, Alderperson Bruer also served as chair of the Common Council Organizational Committee and served on the Board of Estimates, Community Development Authority, Community Development Block Grant Committee, Housing Merger Planning Ad Hoc Committee, Jeffrey Clay Erlanger Civility in Public Discourse Award Committee and the Common Council Work Group to Review Snow Policies & Procedures; and,
WHEREAS, during Alderperson Bruer’s tenure as Common Council President he held a variety of discussions, briefings and informational presentations for the Common Council including a discussion on modifying curfew hours for juveniles (April 29, 2009), an update on the Zoning Code Rewrite process (June 16, 2009), a briefing on the draft 2010 Economic Development Work Plan and Madison’s current business climate (June 22, 2009), a presentation on the Central Library proposal (July 13, 2009), a presentation on Central Library Renovation Options (August 6, 2009), a presentation on Central Library (August 27, 2009), a discussion on the 2010 Budget Process and Spending Priorities (August 31, 2009), an overview of the 2010 Executive Operating Budget (October 6, 2009), a presentation on the Neighborhood Indicators Project, 2008 Edition (October 20, 2009), an informational presentation on the proposed Edgewater Development (January 28, 2010) and an informational presentation on the Central Library proposal (April 13, 2010) ;...
