Recognizing and commending Lorri Wendorf Corrigan for her professional and personal dedication to the City of Madison on the occasion of her retirement.
Body
WHEREAS, Lorri Wendorf Corrigan is retiring from the City of Madison on January 18, 2015 after 36 years of service to the city; and
WHEREAS, Lorri Wendorf Corrigan began her career as a clerk “with typing ability” in the Family Support Unit of the City of Madison in 1979; and
WHEREAS, Since Lorri’s promotion in 1990 to the Neighborhood Services Coordinator position in the Office of Community Services she has been a tireless advocate for resident engagement in community processes, neighborhood based services and programming and neighborhood centers. In this role she has worked closely with Joining Forces for Families and neighborhood police officers across the city; and
WHEREAS, though Lorri’s love of gardening had nothing to do with her appointment as the Weed and Seed Coordinator, she provided leadership for one of Madison’s first neighborhood focused interdepartmental initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Lorri participated in planning groups for the City of Madison Neighborhood Conferences, the Neighborhoods USA conference and has been a founding member of the current and past iterations of Neighborhood Resource Teams; and
WHEREAS, Lorri received training in Quality Improvement methods and mediation and has utilized these skills in the service of various departments and neighborhood based projects; and
WHEREAS, Lorri has played an integral part in engaging residents in city efforts in the redevelopment of several neighborhoods including Bridge Lake Point and Allied Drive; and
WHEREAS, Neighborhood Center Directors have lauded her dedication to neighborhoods and her advocacy on behalf of centers; and
