Commending and thanking Susan Hamblin for her incredible and valuable volunteer service as host on Madison City Channel.
Body
WHEREAS, Susan Hamblin will be “retiring” after seventeen years from her hosting duties on Madison City Channel on March 18, 2019; and,
WHEREAS, Susan started hosting "District Reports" on Madison City Channel in May of 2002, hosted nearly 200 episodes during her tenure and interviewed nearly every alderperson since 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Susan hosted on 3 different sets in two different buildings with 2 different directors and even hosted shows at remote locations such as Fire Station No. 7 and Breese Stevens Field; and,
WHEREAS, Susan was a member of the Madison Sister Cities organization and hosted several episodes on Madison’s Sister Cities, that highlighted each city and their attributes; and,
WHEREAS, Susan provided the “ying” to Eve Galanter’s “yang” for several years by collaborating with Eve and City Channel staff to produce timely and informative programming for Madison residents; and,
WHEREAS, she and Eve hosted a live election show in 2015 updating viewers on election returns while interviewing 5 different guests; and,
WHEREAS, Susan will be greatly missed by the Media Team staff and the viewers of Madison City Channel,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council, along with the residents of the city of Madison, commend and thank Susan Hamblin for her incredible and valuable volunteer service on Madison City Channel; and,
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that Susan would like to remind everyone to “buckle up for safety”!
