Commending and thanking Alderperson Judy Compton for her dedicated service to the constituents in District 16 and to the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Judy Compton was elected to the Madison Common Council on April 6, 1999; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Compton served on the Broadband Telecommunications Regulatory Board, Common Council Organizational Committee, Plan Commission, Madison City Channel Ad Hoc Advisory Committee, Swimming Pool Ad Hoc Committee, City-County Liaison Committee, Housing Diversity Planning Ad Hoc Committee, Pedestrian/Bicycle/Motor Vehicle Commission, Sustainable City Ad Hoc Subcommittee for the Private Sector, Sustainable Design and Energy Committee, Early Childhood Care and Education Committee, Ad Hoc Monona Drive Advisory Committee, Stoughton Road Revitalization Project Board, Stoughton Road Corridor Policy Advisory Committee and the Ho-Chunk Nation/City of Madison Joint Planning Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Compton worked diligently on linking the bike path connecting the State from west to east, developing the Midwest Regional BioAg Gateway and the BioLink incubator; and
WHEREAS Alderperson Compton supported the Madison Police Department including the construction of the East District Police Station and the Madison Police Department training facility on Femrite Drive; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Compton sponsored ordinances creating TID #39, banning the disposal of certain types of non-recyclable plastic bags, banning facsimile guns and pellet guns, creating “quiet pavement” in the city, the creation of a refund process to reduce assessments to property owners for street reconstruction, curb, gutter, and sidewalk installation when the project is less than the special assessment levied; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Compton organized the Stoughton Road Revitalization Project Committee and led it to the creation of the final report and plan that was passed by every city com...
