Fiscal Note
Total cost of these services is not to exceed $600,000 per calendar year. The contract has four (4) optional one-year renewals for a maximum possible contract duration of five (5) years. The per-unit prices are allowed to increase a maximum of 3% per year.

The contracted services will be used on various different construction projects and the actual cost of the services will be assessed to individual projects and their respective account numbers at the time services are performed. No additional appropriation is required for the proposed contract agreement.

Body
WHEREAS, many projects require testing of asphalt pavement mixes, concrete mixes and soil compaction, and other geotechnical consulting services to ensure proper construction; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to City Ordinances and policies, City Engineering advertised for bids in November 2022 for consulting proposals, reviewed the submitted proposals, and made a recommendation to the Board of Public Works to select CGC, Inc. to enter into a one year contract for these consulting services; and

WHEREAS, the contract contains the option to renew the agreement in one-year increments up to four renewals if mutually agreeable, with a maximum 3% increase allowed each year on contracted services; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract with CGC, Inc for asphalt pavement, concrete and soil compaction testing and geotechnical services on various projects administered by the City of Madison; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the initial contract may be renewed for four (4) ...
