Fiscal Note

The proposed ordinance amends Section 2.04(1)(k) of the Madison General Ordinances to remove the requirement that reports of City agencies and bodies be listed on the Common Council agenda in a continuous rotation. This change is consistent with current practice and there is no anticipated fiscal impact. No appropriation is required.

DRAFTER’S ANALYSIS:    This ordinance removes the requirement that reports of City agencies and bodies be listed on the Common Council agenda in a continuous rotation. This change would be consistent with current practice given the generation of the Council agenda in Legistar and the use of the consent agenda to dispose of most items on the Council agenda.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:

 

                     1.                     Subdivision (k) of Subsection (1) of Section 2.04 entitled “Order of Business” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended as follows:

 

“(k)                     Reports of officers, departments and divisions, committees, boards and commissions presented in continuous rotation, alphabetically, including re-referrals according to the provisions of Sec. 2.05(1).”
