Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution recreates 4.0 FTE positions within Metro Transit from Comp Group 44 to Comp Group 21. The annualized cost increase from these changes is estimated to be $114,000 to $155,000, including retirement and FICA costs. Metro plans to accommodate any additional expenses in 2022 within its existing budget authority utilizing savings from vacant positions.
Metro Transit's operating budget continues to be balanced largely with one-time federal recovery funds. After the exhaustion of these federal rescue funds, additional operating expenses created through this resolution will need to be supported by agency revenues or the general fund subsidy provided to Metro.
The proposed resolution also allows for a double fill for one of the above positions for a period up to four months. The cost of this double fill is expected to be up to $43,000. Metro plans to accommodate the double fill within its existing budget authority.
