Title

Appointing Erik Paulson as Alderperson for District 3 to serve until the Spring 2023 election.

Body

WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee met on May 17, 2022, to make a recommendation on the appointment of an Alderperson for District 3 according to the procedures outlined in Madison General Ordinances 2.03; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee reviewed the resumes submitted and interviewed the applicants; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council Executive Committee recommends that Erik Paulson be appointed to fill the vacated District 3 aldermanic seat; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council shall appoint and confirm the recommended candidate, or appoint and confirm another candidate among the applicants, per MGO 2.03(4),

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Erik Paulson is hereby appointed to the position of Alderperson for District 3 effective at the conclusion of our council meeting on May 24, 2022, to serve until an election is held in the spring of 2023 and a qualified District 3 Alderperson is elected and sworn-in on April 18, 2023.
