Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution amends the Yahara Hills Neighborhood Development Plan. No City appropriation is required with the adoption of this amendment. City costs associated with urban development in this area will be included in future operating and capital budgets subject to Common Council approval.
Title
Amending the Yahara Hills Neighborhood Development Plan, a supplement to the City of Madison Comprehensive Plan, to provide updated recommendations for the area located on the eastern portion of the Yahara Hills Golf Course.
Body
WHEREAS the Yahara Hills Neighborhood Development Plan was adopted by the Common Council on January 17, 2017; and
WHEREAS Dane County is currently working with the City to purchase the eastern portion of the Yahara Hills Golf Course for a new Dane County Landfill, Composting Facility and a Sustainable Business Park; and
WHEREAS City staff drafted a proposed amendment that updates the land use and transportation recommendations for the amendment area; and
WHEREAS these updated recommendations will guide the City’s review of the pending project proposal and better inform future projects; and
WHEREAS a virtual public meeting on the proposed Plan amendment was held on March 17, 2022 to provide information, answer questions, and obtain feedback on the proposed amendment.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Yahara Hills Neighborhood Development Plan, a supplement to the City of Madison Comprehensive Plan, is hereby amended to revise the plan recommendations for the area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the eventual update to the Comprehensive Plan’s Generalized Future Land Use (GFLU) Map reflect the Yahara Hills Neighborhood Development Plan’s recommended land use changes.
