The proposed resolution amends the 2020 Adopted Capital Budget by transferring $245,000 from the Streets Division (Project: Street Yard Improvements) to Engineering-Facilities Management (Project: Streets Building Improvements). The increased funding will be used to continue installing Truck Scales at the Streets locations.
The proposed resolution amends the 2020 Adopted Capital Budget for Streets Division and Engineering - Facilities Management by authorizing a net-neutral transfer of existing budget authority across major programs. Under the proposed resolution, $245,000 of unused GO borrowing authority will be transferred from the Streets Yard Improvements major program to the Streets Facilities Improvements major program. This funding will be used to support the contract for the Sycamore Truck Scale Project.

Whereas the Streets Division has transferred funding from the EAB project by Legistar No. 52258 for the purchase and installation of for three (3) truck scales (1 scale located at each of the following (Streets East-Sycamore Ave., Streets West-Badger Rd., and Streets Far West-South Point Rd.); and

Whereas the scale equipment is utilized for tracking and usage reports of sand and salt used on snow plow routes; and

Whereas the Streets Division has already purchased under contract the furnishing and installation of the truck scale equipment; and

Whereas the Streets Division installed one scale in 2019 at the W. Badger Road facility in 2019; and

Whereas the low bid for the Sycamore installation contract, plus contingency, plus staff time, plus miscellaneous professional services exceeds the remaining funds of the original transfer; and
