Fiscal Note
Metro’s 2020 operating budget includes $264,000 for Metro’s tire lease program. The 2020 budget was increased by $14,000 (or 10%) in anticipation of rebidding the contract. No additional appropriation is required.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for provision of leasing tires to Metro Transit for a five-year period beginning on July 1, 2020 and continuing through June 30, 2025.
Body
Metro Transit, a division of the City of Madison, leases tires for its entire fleet of buses. The current five-year lease ends 6/30/2020. Metro Transit developed a Request for Bids (RFB) which was advertised and threed bids were received; and
WHEREAS based on the review of the bids received, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was selected as the most responsive and responsible bidder, and a contract was prepared;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a five-year lease agreement with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for mileage tires at an estimated cost of $250,000 annually.
