This project will require minimal staff time and equipment purchases estimated at less than $3,000. These costs will be absorbed within an existing appropriation, and no additional appropriation is needed.

Approving Plans and Specifications for Garver Path Gates. (6th & 15th ADs)
Body
WHEREAS an existing railroad crossing has been established along Sugar Ave near Olbrich Gardens & Garver Feed Mill;
WHEREAS the Garver Feed Mill has redeveloped and general traffic in the area has increased;
WHEREAS the City has posted signs allowing only pedestrian, bicycle and authorized users to utilize the railroad crossing;
WHEREAS compliance with the signage has been noticed to decline during certain events and concerns have been raised regarding negative impacts to Olbrich Garden operations due to vehicles parking in unauthorized areas;
WHEREAS the City proposes to install gates which will allow bicycle, pedestrian and Olbrich Garden maintenance golf carts to cross and allow for a key for authorized users to utilize and open the gates;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Plans and Specifications for the Garver Path Gates are hereby approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized to undertake the construction in accordance with City Ordinance and State Statutes.
