Title

Authorizing the execution of a permanent easement for underground gas main purposes to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of City-owned land located at 4801 Sycamore Avenue and 830 Jana Lane. (15th AD)

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) plans to replace an existing below ground gas regulator station with an above ground gas regulator station on City-owned land at 4801 Sycamore Avenue; and

 

WHEREAS, an easement related to the above ground gas regulator station was granted to MG&E by the City of Madison (“City”), as detailed in Resolution Enactment No. RES-19-00628, File ID 56867, adopted September 3, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, an existing gas main connected to the gas regulator facilities passes through a portion of City-owned lands at 4801 Sycamore Avenue and 830 Jana Lane without the benefit of an easement; and

 

WHEREAS, City Engineering staff are aware of the gas main located on City property and approve of granting  a permanent easement for underground gas main purposes (“Easement”) to MG&E for said facilities.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute the Easement to MG&E across a portion of City-owned land located at 4801 Sycamore Avenue and 830 Jana Lane, with the area of said Easement being depicted on attached Exhibit A and legally described as follows:

 

A strip of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in Lot 149 and Outlot 5, Ridgewood, recorded in Volume 56-94A of Plats, Pages 275-277 as Document No. 2224628, Dane County Registry, lying in the NE1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 34, T8N, R10E, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, being more particularly described as follows:

 

The north 10 feet of said Lot 149 and the north 10 feet of said Outlot 5.
