Title

Approving Plans, Specifications & Estimate for the UW Fieldhouse Retaining Wall and authorizing Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a maintenance agreement. (5th AD)

Body

WHEREAS, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, proposes to reconstruct the retaining wall between the UW Fieldhouse and Monroe Street & Little Street in 2020;

 

WHEREAS, the proposed wall extends onto City right of way by approximately two feet;  

 

WHEREAS, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, or it’s contractor, will be required to obtain a City permit to excavate in the right of way;

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

 

1.                     That the plans and specifications for the public improvements are hereby approved.

 

2.                     That the University of Wisconsin-Madison, or its contractor, is authorized to construct the public improvements in accordance with the terms of the Excavation Permit That Will be Accepted by the City of Madison at the sole cost of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

3.                     That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign a maintenance agreement as necessary.

 

4.                     The Common Council is approved to accept ownership of the improvements in the Maintenance Area if a maintenance agreement is executed and recorded as a condition of this contract.
