Commending and thanking Alderperson Samba Baldeh for his dedicated and conscientious service during his tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.

Body

WHEREAS, Alderperson Samba Baldeh was elected by his peers to the office of President of the Madison Common Council on April 17, 2018 for the term 2018-2019; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Baldeh met weekly with Mayor Paul Soglin and Common Council Vice-President Sheri Carter to discuss city issues; and,

 

WHEREAS, during his term as Common Council President, Alderperson Baldeh also served as chair of the Common Council Executive Committee and served on the Board of Park Commissioners, City-County Liaison Committee, Finance Committee, Community Development Block Grant Committee, Community Development Division Conference Committee, Digital Technology Committee, Jeffrey Clay Erlanger Civility in Public Discourse Award Committee, President's Work Group to Develop City-Wide Surveillance Equipment & Data Management Policies and the Sister City Collaboration Committee; and,

 

WHEREAS, during his tenure as Common Council President Alderperson Baldeh held numerous discussions and forums for the Common Council on issues that involved the city's Performance Excellence Initiative, the Madison Water Utility, the city budget, the flooding crisis and high lake levels and immigration in Madison and Dane County; and,

 

WHEREAS, Alderperson Baldeh fulfilled his duties as Common Council President while ably representing and responding to his 17th District constituents concerns and issues,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Samba Baldeh for his dedicated and conscientious service during his tenure as President of the Madison Common Council.
