Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes a Purchase of Services (Architect) contract to provide professional architectural and engineering design services and construction administration services for the design and construction of the Madison Public Market for an estimated cost of $1,200,000. The Public Market capital project has available budget authority of approximately $13,000,000. No additional City appropriation is required.

Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract for Purchase of Services (Architect) with Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. to provide professional architectural and engineering design services and construction administration services for the design and construction of the Madison Public Market. Body
WHEREAS the 2019 Capital Budget includes funding for architectural and engineering consultant design, bidding, and construction administration services; and,
WHEREAS Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. has been selected through a “Request for Proposal” process, and is the final selected candidate in accordance with MGO Section 4.26 of Madison General Ordinances; and,
WHEREAS the scope of this project shall include architectural/engineering services for the Madison Public Market that will achieve at a minimum LEED Certification-Silver per Madison Legislative File #07453 following the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations (LEED-NC v. 3) Rating System; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract for Purchase of Services (Architect) in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, with Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. to provide professional architectural/engineering design services and construction administration services for the Madison Public Market.
