Money for the proposed Agreement with (Dixon Engineering) for the preparation of plans and specifications, and construction inspection services for the painting of three steel water storage reservoirs is contained as part of the $1,650,000 authorized in the 2016 Water Utility Operating Budget.

Title

SUBSTITUTE:  Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute a Professional Services Agreement with (Dixon Engineering) for the preparation of plans and specifications, and construction inspection services for the painting of three steel water storage reservoirs.

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has identified the need to repaint three existing steel water storage reservoirs located at 4724 Spaanem Avenue, 4701 Bunker Hill Lane, and 3518 Cross Hill Drive; and

 

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has budgeted for this work in the 2016 Operating Budget; and

 

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility Board has authorized the solicitation of proposals for this work; and

 

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has advertised for, received, and evaluated proposals for the work, and based on the recommendation of selection committee, the Water Utility Board has selected (Dixon Engineering) for this work;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement with (Dixon Engineering) for the preparation of plans and specifications, and construction inspection services for the painting of three steel water storage reservoirs.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that amendments that do not exceed the Madison Water Utility's approved capital budget or the scope of the Operations Center project as authorized by the Common Council may be executed by the Water Utility General Manager and City Finance Director and/or designee, and counter executed by  (Dixon Engineering).
