Title

SUBSTITUTE.  Amending Sections 28.151, 28.082 and 28.091 of the Madison General Ordinances to allow the keeping of honeybees in the Airport District and all Employment Districts and to clarify the number of hives allowed on zoning lots where honeybees are allowed.

Body

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This Substitute allows the keeping of honeybees in the airport and employment districts as either a principle or accessory use.  This amendment also amends the supplemental regulations for keeping of honeybees to clarify the number of hives allowed on a zoning lot. The general rule is that no zoning lot can have more than 6 hives.  However, zoning lots in the employment and special use districts can have more than 6 hives if the keeping of honeybees is a principal use on that lot.  This amendment has been recommended by the Pollinator Protection Taskforce. This Substitute was requested in order to add the airport district as one of the special districts where honeybees are allowed.
