This resolution will transfer a total of $61,516.12 from the Parkland Acquisition Fund (Project No. 10473) to the City's General Land Acquisition Fund (Project No. 10772)  The expenses for the acquisition of these six lots were originally funded from the General Land Acquisition Fund.

Designating Six Lots Recently Acquired by the City as an Addition to Owl's Creek Park.
Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council authorized the acquisition of 51 lots and 1 outlot in the Owl's Creek Subdivision (authorizing resolution RES-14-00574, Legislative File ID 34538), which properties were acquired on November 26, 2014; and
 
WHEREAS, six of these lots (identified in Exhibit A and shown in Exhibit B) are adjacent to Owl's Creek Park, located at 23 Horned Owl Court and consisting of 2.8 acres; and
 
WHEREAS, Owl's Creek Park has limited opportunities for recreational development as over 90% of the existing parkland is forested; and
 
WHEREAS, adding these six lots to Owl's Creek Park (total of 1.12 acres) will expand the opportunity to include more recreational amenities in this neighborhood park (the recreational amenities will be defined through the park master planning process); and
 
WHEREAS, City Parks Division staff concur with the inclusion of these six lots as part of Owl's Creek Park.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the six lots identified in Exhibit A and currently owned by the City will be designated for park purposes as an addition to Owl's Creek Park.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funds in the amount of $61,516.12 shall be transferred from the Parkland Acquisition Fund to the General Land Acquisition Fund as reimbursement for the costs associated with the acquisition of the six lots.
