AMENDED Substitute Resolution Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. to provide professional architectural and engineering design services for the complete rehabilitation of the Madison Municipal Building (MMB) and tenant improvements at the City-County Building (CCB).
Body
WHEREAS the 2014 Capital Budget includes funding for architectural and engineering consultant design services; and,

WHEREAS the contract compensation for architectural and engineering pre-design (programming and preliminary concept) services for Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. is $350,000.00; and,

WHEREAS through the pre-design process the City and Architect will complete an architectural programming and preliminary concept at both the MMB and CCB to establish appropriate adjacencies between agencies, improve service to the public, and determine the highest and best use of available space in both facilities; and,

WHEREAS upon successful completion of the pre-design phase (programming and preliminary concept) project the City and Architect will determine the project scope; and,

WHEREAS upon determination of the total project scope by the City and Architect an amendment to complete architectural and engineering services for MMB and CCB (i.e. schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding documents, and construction administration) may be pursued; and,

WHEREAS the scope of the project includes coordinating with the proposed adjoining mixed-use Judge Doyle Square development to achieve a successful integrated design that respects the design requirements of the MMB as a National Register of Historic Places building and that is integrated with the adjacent Judge Doyle Square development building(s) and uses; and,
