Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sue Ellingson was first elected to the Madison Common Council on April 5, 2011 and was re-elected in 2013; and,
 
WHEREAS, during her tenure on the Common Council she served on the Bayview Foundation Board, CDA Housing Operations Subcommittee, Committee on the Environment, Common Council Organizational Committee, Community Development Authority, Equal Opportunities Commission, Housing Strategy Committee, Joint Southeast Campus Area Committee, Joint West Campus Area Committee, TIF Policy Review Ad Hoc Committee, Transit and Parking Commission and Water Utility Board; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Ellingson kept her constituents informed with emailed updates weekly/bi-weekly, an annual newsletter and by holding numerous neighborhood meetings; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Ellingson was able to achieve traffic and parking improvements such as bike lanes on Olin Avenue and pedestrian improvements at S. Park Street and Fish Hatchery Road; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Ellingson facilitated several new infill development projects in District 13 which included the renaissance of S.Park Street and the implementation of the Greenbush-Vilas Revitalization Plan by starting a TIF District to pay for improvements to the housing stock in Greenbush; and,
 
WHEREAS, Alderperson Sue Ellingson worked collaboratively and tirelessly for District 13 constituents, community organizations and businesses to make the 13th District a great place to live, work and play,
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Sue Ellingson for her dedicated service to the constituents in District 13 and to the City of Madison and wish her well in all her future endeavors.
