The proposed Agreement with for professional engineering services for design and construction of the Lakeview Reservoir (Res 113) Two Zone System will not exceed $241,000.

Funds for this project are included in the 2013 Water Utility Capital Budget, EW01-54950-810458.

SUBSTITUTE: Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute a Professional Services Agreement with SEH, Inc. for pre-design planning, public participation support, the preparation of final construction drawings and specifications, permitting, bidding, and construction administration for Lakeview Reservoir (Res 113) Two Zone System (18th AD).
Body
WHEREAS, the Lakeview Reservoir which serves Pressure Zone 5 and is located on Madison’s north side is in need of replacement and expansion to meet current water supply and fire protection needs; and

WHEREAS, Madison’s north side is in need of additional water storage capacity to meet current water supply and fire protection needs; and

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has identified this project as a critical need in its Water Master Plan; and

WHEREAS, The Madison Water Utility Board has authorized the solicitation of proposals for the work; and

WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has advertised for, received, and evaluated professional engineering consultant proposals for the work, and based on the recommendation of this process, the Water Utility Board has selected SEH, Inc. for this work;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement not to exceed $241,000 with SEH, Inc. for facility design, permitting, public participation support, preparation of drawings and specifications, bidding services, and construction administration services for the design and construction of the Lakeview Reservoir (Res 113) Two Zone System.
