Amending Enactment No RES-10-00931 concerning the allocation of CDBG funds for neighborhood revitalization projects which address objectives identified in the Northport-Warner Park-Sherman Neighborhood Plan.
Body
WHEREAS, on December 2, 2010, the Common Council adopted Enactment No RES 10-00931, authorizing the provision of $106,900 in CDBG funds for two neighborhood revitalization projects identified in the Northport-Warner Park-Sherman Neighborhood Plan by the Northport-Warner Park-Sherman Steering Committee;

WHEREAS, $95,400 in Federal CDBG funds was authorized to the Northside Planning Council for the development of a Kitchen incubator facility (FEED Innovation Kitchen); and $11,500 to Metro Transit for the installation of bus shelters and benches on North Sherman Avenue;

WHEREAS, Metro staff have determined that there are no sites on North Sherman Avenue where a new bus shelter could be installed;

WHEREAS, the Northport-Warner-Sherman Steering Committee also identified as high priority the need to improve the identity of the Northside through improved aesthetic streetscape enhancements on bus shelters, benches, and banners along North Sherman Avenue between Northport Drive and Commercial Avenue partly through neighborhood branding;

WHEREAS, CDBG funds have been identified for use of branding to bus shelters located on North Sherman Drive.

NOW, THEEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council approve the language modification regarding the previously authorized expenditure of CDBG funds in the amount of $11,500 for neighborhood branding within the Northport-Warner Park-Sherman planning area.
