Fiscal Note
This resolution allows for the Central Library Architect/Engineer to invoice for extra design and construction administration service costs. The cost is estimated at $41,000. No additional General Obligation Debt is required. Funds are available in the Central Library Capital Budget (Fund No. CB18-58011-810611).
Title
Authorizing an amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and Meyer, Scherer Rockcastle, Ltd., for extra architectural and engineering services.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Engineering Division has identified the need for extra Architect/Engineer construction observation needs at this critical stage of the project to assist in maintaining schedule and quality at the Central Library at an estimated cost of $19,000, and
WHEREAS, during the course of construction the Engineering Division and the Madison Public Library director have identified a variety of extra Architect/Engineer design service needs at estimated cost of $15,000, and
WHEREAS, the Architect/Engineer has submitted extra design and construction administration costs related to the pipe break (refer to Legistar #29804) at an estimated cost of $7000, and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an amendment to Contract #6436 between the City of Madison and Meyer Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. to authorize the extra work as described above and payment in the amount not to exceed $41,000 (which includes the $7,000 authorized in Legistar #29804).
