A Plan Commission resolution recommending adoption of amendments to the Generalized Future Land Use Plan maps in the City of Madison Comprehensive Plan.

WHEREAS the City of Madison Common Council adopted a Comprehensive Plan as defined in Sec. 66.1001(2), Wis. Stats., on January 17, 2006; and

WHEREAS subsequent to January 2006, the City of Madison has adopted or amended more-detailed plans for neighborhoods and other sub-areas within the City as supplements to the Comprehensive Plan, including the Spring Harbor Neighborhood Plan, Tenney-Lapham Neighborhood Plan, East Washington Avenue Capitol Gateway Corridor Plan, Central Park Design and Implementation Task Force Final Report, Regent Street-South Campus Neighborhood Plan, Greenbush Neighborhood Plan, Greenbush-Vilas Neighborhood Housing Revitalization Strategy, Northport-Warner Park-Sherman Neighborhood Plan, Cherokee Special Area Plan, Stoughton Road Revitalization Plan, Royster-Clark Special Area Plan, Blackhawk Neighborhood Development Plan, Cottage Grove Neighborhood Development Plan, Pumpkin Hollow Neighborhood Development Plan, Nelson Neighborhood Development Plan, Shady Wood Neighborhood Development Plan-Phase A,. Northeast Neighborhoods Development Plan-Phase I, and Midtown Neighborhood Development Plan; and

WHEREAS many of these adopted plans include recommendations that specific amendments to the land use designations in the current Comprehensive Plan be considered as more consistent with the objectives of the neighborhood plan; and

WHEREAS the adopted plans for new neighborhoods at the periphery of the city provide more detailed land use and street pattern recommendations for areas designated in the current Comprehensive Plan only as future planning areas with very broad preliminary land use designations; and

WHEREAS in order to maintain the Comprehensive Plan maps as a current expression of community land use objectives, the Plan Commission approved a process and schedule for reviewi...
