Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Sustainable Engineering Group, LLC to provide commissioning, enhanced commissioning, and LEED measurement and verification professional engineering services for the complete renovation, exterior improvements, and possible expansion of the Madison Central Public Library.
Body
WHEREAS the 2010 Capital Budget includes funding for design and engineering services; and,

WHEREAS the contract compensation for commissioning, enhanced commissioning, and LEED measurement and verification professional engineering services for Sustainable Engineering Group, LLC is $161,230; and,

WHEREAS the project will provide commissioning services for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system, building automation system (BAS) consisting of direct digital control for the HVAC systems, lighting and daylighting controls, domestic hot water (DHW) systems, renewable energy systems, and the building envelope for Madison Central Public Library located at 201 West Mifflin Street; and,

WHEREAS the scope of this project shall include commissioning, enhanced commissioning, and LEED measurement and verification professional engineering services to achieve at a minimum LEED Certification-Silver following the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED for New Construction and Major Renovations (LEED-NC) Rating System.

WHEREAS Sustainable Engineering Group, LLC located at 901 Deming Way, Suite 201, has been selected as a sole source because commissioning, enhanced commissioning, and LEED measurement and verification professional engineering services are a very specialized service that Sustainable Engineering Group, LLC is uniquely able to provide, which is allowed under MGO Section 4.26 of Madison General Ordinances.
