Authorizing the WI Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople, as sponsor of the ART FAIR OFF THE SQUARE, EXCLUSIVE rights to select vendors, salespersons, vending sites and performers for the duration of the ART FAIR OFF THE SQUARE, from 6:00p.m. July 9 to 9:00p.m. July 11, 2010 on the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Body
WHEREAS, Section 9.13(6(k)4. of the Madison General Ordinances authorizes the Common Council to allow the sponsor of a special event to select alternate vendors, salespersons, and vending sites within the perimeter and for the duration of a special event; and
 
WHEREAS, Section 9.13(6)(k)4. further requires that this authority only be granted upon a separate resolution after some or all vending licenses have already been invalidated within the perimeter of a special event; and
 
WHEREAS, the Common Council has already approved the invalidation of some or all vending licenses within the perimeter of the ART FAIR OFF THE SQUARE in Resolution No.18024; and
 
WHEREAS, the WI Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople has complied with the procedures set forth in Sec. 9.13(6)(k)4. to provide written notice of proposed rules, regulations, fees, and areas affected as well as notice of this hearing to all vendors within the perimeter of the event; and
 
WHEREAS, the event sponsor shall obtain a Special Event Vending License for all selected vendors, as required by sec. 9.13(2) and(3); and
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the WI Alliance of Artists and Craftspeople is hereby authorized to select vendors, salespersons and vending sites on the 200 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. for the duration of the special event described in Resolution No. 18024.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the vendors and salesperson selected for the special event be limited to vending food, beverages, goods and promotional items (such as T-shirts, posters, souvenirs) which are related to the purpose of the special event.
