Amending Sec. 10.34(3) of the Madison General Ordinances to clarify language pertaining to the requirement to post a newly assigned street number.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This ordinance corrects a drafting error made when Sec. 10.34 of the Madison General Ordinances was repealed and recreated in 2007. This ordinance moves a clause relating to the requirement to post a newly assigned street number from its present location to the correct location, thereby properly reflecting the intent of the clause.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
Subsection (3) of Section 10.34 entitled “Street Numbers” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
“(3) It shall be the duty of each owner or occupant of any building, within twenty (20) days after the completion or occupancy, or in the event that any building is assigned a new number by the City Engineer, whichever occurs first, of such building, or in the event that any building is assigned a new number by the City Engineer, to attach securely, or apply to the same, in a conspicuous position, that can be plainly seen from the street,...
