DRAFTER’S ANALYSIS: This ordinance modifies the composition of the Alcohol License Review Committee by designating previous nonvoting members as technical advisors and staff to the ALRC and adding a UW student representative whose position (chair of the Student Council of the Associated Students of Madison technical advisor) will expire two three years from the date of enactment.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
Subsection (2) entitled “Composition” of Section 33.02 entitled “Alcohol License Review Committee” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
“(2) Composition. The Alcohol License Review Committee shall consist of seven (7) voting members, two (2) of whom shall be alderpersons (ex officio) and five (5) who shall be adult residents of the City, and five (5) nonvoting members who shall be President of the Dane County Tavern League or designee, the City Clerk, the Chief of Police (ex officio) or their designees, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Chancellor (ex officio) or designee, and the City of Madison Alcohol Policy Coordinator (ex officio). The President of the Dane County Tavern League, the Chief of Police, the chair of the Student Council of the Associated Students of Madison, and the University of Wisconsin Chancellor, or their designees, shall serve as technical advisors to the Committee. The position of chair of the Student Council of the Associated Students of Madison technical advisor shall expire twothree (23) years from the date of enactment.
