Body
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company ("MG&E") is upgrading its electric system located along Atwood Avenue, adjacent to Olbrich Park, in order to serve new development in the immediate neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, as part of the upgrade, MG&E has agreed to underground its existing overhead electric facilities; and

WHEREAS, the undergrounding of such facilities will facilitate the future widening of Atwood Avenue, avoid costly relocation in the future, and improve the aesthetics of the Olbrich Park frontage along Atwood Avenue; and

WHEREAS, in order to underground its existing facilities in the location proposed by the City Engineering Division, MG&E has requested an eight (8) foot wide underground electric line easement ("Easement") across a portion of Olbrich Park; and

WHEREAS, the City Engineering Division and Parks Division have reviewed and approve of the Easement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Utility Easement with Madison Gas and Electric Company for the Easement described as follows:


A strip of land, eight (8) feet in width, located in part of the NE ? of Section 8, Town 7 North, Range 10 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, said easement strip being more particularly described as follows:

The Northeasterly 8 feet of the Southeasterly 720 feet of the following described parcel:

That part of Olbrich Park lying Southwesterly of Atwood Avenue, Southeasterly of Starkweather Creek, and Northwesterly of the City of Madison municipal limits line.
