DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This ordinance amends various sections of the Madison General Ordinances to reflect that the name of the Motor Equipment Division is to be changed to the Fleet Service Division.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:

1. Subdivision (b) of Subsection (4) entitled "Divisions" of Section 3.11 entitled "Department of Public Works" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:

"(b) The Division of Motor Vehicle Equipment Fleet Service" shall be directly responsible for the management, supervision, servicing, maintenance and repair of all municipal motor equipment, including boats."

2. Subsection (6) entitled "The Director of Public Works" of Section 3.11 entitled "Department of Public Works" of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:

"(6) The Director of Public Works. The Department of Public Works shall be managed and directed by a Director of Public Works. Effective March 1, 1989, the position of Director of Public Works as it becomes vacant shall be filled according to Sec. 3.38(6)(f) of these ordinances. The incumbent of the position as of the above date may enter into an employment contract as described in such section at his or her option. He/she shall, together with the division heads, be charged with the duty of preparing and presenting the annual operating and capital budgets of the several divisions of the department.
